Panama Airport Terminal 2

Panama Airport Terminal 2, also denominated South Terminal, stands for the new terminal at PTY Airport. It is located south of Terminal 1.

The Terminal began operations in January 2019 but nowadays is partially operating, yet expected to be fully operative by June 2019.

It has 116,000 square meters’ surface distributed into four levels and it will be able to host along with Terminal 1 over 25 million passengers annually by 2025.

Other interesting features

20 boarding gates, some of them capable to accommodate the Airbus A380, and a new baggage handling system between both terminals, which will ease the baggage inspection and reduce waiting times.


Terminal 2 will count with 1,700-1,800 parking spaces.

Transfer between terminals

Terminal 2 is connected to Terminal 1 by a 172 meters’ connector. In that sense, transfer between terminals can be done by foot. The connector building is also equipped with retail stores.
