Tocumen International Airport (PTY) is well connected to Panama City, located about 20–30 minutes away by road. Today, travelers can choose between taxis, buses, and the recently opened metro connection—one of the most efficient and affordable ways to reach the city.

Metro (Best Value Option – NEW)

Since March 2023, Panama City’s metro system has been directly connected to the airport, making it one of the few cities in the region with a rail link to its main international gateway.

Key Features

  • Direct station: Aeropuerto Station (Line 2 branch)
  • Travel time to city center: ~35–45 minutes
  • Modern, clean, and air-conditioned trains

The metro operates via a branch of Line 2, connecting the airport to Corredor Sur, where you can continue toward San Miguelito and transfer to Line 1 for downtown areas.
